Baseball Game, Park, and Fireflies

On Sunday (3-31-13) we were invited by Bǐde (Peter in English) to go with him and some other friends to a baseball game. The Rhinos and the Monkeys played. Bǐde told us that we should route for the monkeys so we did. It was similar to a Royals game back home where the team you are routing for loses :)  It was still really fun spending time with the friends in a very relaxed environment. We all had a blast being really silly. And of course the food choices were interesting here are some pictures.

There were only 2 vendors similar to this at the baseball field. This one served chopped  sausage, with the option of a side of rice.
The other vendor sold these while it looks like a normal hotdog  it is actually a sausage inside a rice sausage. They are  famous in Taiwan but don't taste very good.

A really interesting part of it was the announcer guys who tried to get the crowd worked up. Here is a video that doesn't really do it justice but gives you an idea. :)

After the game Bide took us up to a spot where you can see the whole city. It was really beautiful, the photos definitely don't look anything like the real thing but here are a few attempts.

For the past few days they have been working on setting up a fair thing in the park across the street from our house. They have tons of huge inflatable animals. I like the giant whale and the dolphin balloon. :)

On Tuesday evening we got to go and see the fireflies in the mountains where a sister owns property. It was really cool here are some pics of the area. unfortunately it wasn't possible for us to get any pictures of the fireflies although Hannah was able to catch a few in her hands.

When we got home our guard told us they had parking spots available in the basement for our scooters. This was great because we had been wanting one for the last two months. We had gotten a few parking tickets on the street. And it was only 150nt per month.

Our two scooters in our new parking spots.

That's all for now,
Love Phil & Hannah
